Join us climbing for a cause. The goal is 50 Kilimanjaro summits to raise funds for a new Everest school. Twenty years ago, we planned to climb four mountains on four continents to raise $100,000 to build the Mount Everest school in Uganda. This was only possible with the help of so many. Now is the time to help us help others again.
In February 2028, I hope to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro for the 50th time. As part of that challenge to climb Kilimanjaro 50 times, I am looking to raise $250,000 to build a school in South Sudan and again I need your help.

Getting the Ball Rolling
To get this moving, Ian Taylor Trekking will donate $10,000 to the new Everest school. Can you help raise thousands for the school? We have three years to make this happen. Contact us today if you would like to get involved and start raising funds for the new Everest school.
How you can Help
There are several meaningful ways you can support this project:
- Fundraise through your next adventure and direct your efforts toward building this new school.
- Reach out to your network and local businesses to help us raise vital funds.
- Organise a fundraising event in your community to make a real difference.
- Speak with your company about contributing to this much-needed project.
Every effort brings us one step closer to building a new school in the Everest region.
Impact to Date
To date, our work has helped support the education of over 1000 children across the schools we have built and continue to fund. These schools provide safe learning environments, access to education, and long-term opportunities for children in remote communities.
Inspired to Join us
This is an ambitious goal. It won’t be easy, and it may take years—but that’s exactly why it matters. We’ve seen the life-changing impact our first Everest school has had, and now it’s time to do it again. Together, we can create that same opportunity for the next generation.
South Sudan: The need for Education
Displacement, and poverty have left millions of children without access to even the most basic schooling. For many families, survival comes before education, and schools are often under-resourced, overcrowded, or simply out of reach.
Yet education is critical, it offers children safety, stability, and a pathway out of poverty. Without it, an entire generation risks being left behind. Investing in education in South Sudan is not just about classrooms—it’s about rebuilding communities, creating opportunity, and giving children hope for a better future.
Key Facts & Statistics
- Over 2.8 million children are out of school—one of the highest rates in the world

- South Sudan has one of the lowest female literacy rates globally
- More girls are likely to die in childbirth than complete secondary school

- No trained teachers
- No learning materials
- Temporary or outdoor classrooms
